The Build Room

Learn AI. Build Robots. Stay Human.

You bought the AI seats. Nobody's using them.

The Build Room fixes that with building, not training. Bring us one team. Over four live sessions, each person builds a working AI tool for their own job, with 1:1 coaching from Silicon Valley founders.

More than 180 professionals and businesses have built AI tools with The Build Room.

The call takes 20 minutes. You'll leave knowing if this fits your team and what it would cost.

What a private cohort does for your team

A tool gets approved, the team sits through a training, everyone tries it once, and adoption quietly stalls. Nobody was given a workflow to own. Training without ownership is theater.

A private Build Room cohort flips that. Each person on your team picks one real task from their own job and builds a working AI tool for it, live, with coaching. The capability stays in your org instead of living in one person's head.

Most companies start with one team. A department head or an L&D leader brings us in for a product team, an ops team, a marketing team. That team demos working tools four weeks later, and the next team asks when it's their turn.

One person through a cohort comes back AI-empowered, and that's real. A whole team building together speaks the same language, works on the same problems, and amplifies each other's work. That's the difference between one AI-empowered person and an AI-empowered team.

The guarantee

Every team member ends with at least one working AI-powered tool. If a participant can't complete one, we build a stand-in. Your team walks away with real tools, period.

What leaders see on Demo Day

"Yeah, the most tech-illiterate person on this team is Kate, and she came out with something pretty awesome."

Bryce North, CEO, after his team's cohort.

Tell us about your team

We read every one of these and reply within a day with times for a 20-minute fit call. No commitment, no pitch deck, just whether this fits your team and what it would look like.

Prefer a one-time event?

We also run build days, hackathons, and in-person retreats. See how we meet in person, or ask about dates on the fit call.

Other ways to start

Plenty of leaders start by sending one or two people through an open cohort. That's a complete experience on its own: they build a real tool and come back AI-empowered. When your team is ready to build together, that's what a private cohort is for, and you'll already know what it does.

Want a read on where your team stands before we talk? The AI Fluency Assessment takes under 15 minutes and tells you your band: Exploring, Adopting, Operating, or Multiplying. Share it with your team and compare notes on the fit call.

This is not a course

Most people don't need another AI course. They've watched the videos, saved the prompts, and still haven't built anything they actually use. That's what this fixes. Every session is live, with a facilitator in the room and coaches moving between builders. When you get stuck, someone unsticks you in minutes instead of days.

Live facilitation

Real people running the room, on camera, every session. You're never alone with a paused video wondering what to do next.

Accountability

A cohort that knows your name and a Demo Day on the calendar. Courses get abandoned. Rooms full of people expecting your demo don't.

Your project, chosen with you

Don't know what to build yet? Good. Choosing the project is the first thing we figure out together, and we work with you until you've got something real from your own week that's worth automating.

The guarantee

Everyone leaves with a working product. If a builder can't finish theirs, we build it for them. Nobody walks away empty-handed.

What happens in a cohort

Four live sessions, two hours each, over a month. Async support in between. You don't watch lessons about AI. You build with it, in the room, from session one.

  1. Week 1

    Orientation and a first win

We help you pick the problem you'll solve, something real from your actual week. By the end of the session you've got your first working piece.

  2. Weeks 2 and 3

    Build sessions with live coaching

You build. Coaches move between builders. When you're stuck, someone's there in minutes, and the first two frustrating hours turn into momentum.

  3. Week 4

    Demo Day

You show your working tool to the room, on real screens with real data. Most builders say this is the day it clicks.

  4. After

    Then you keep going

The method is what you keep. You leave with a working tool, a peer group who gets it, and the confidence to take the next problem from idea to shipped on your own.

What people build here

Every one of these came out of a recent cohort, built by a professional, not an engineer, and shown live on Demo Day.

Campaign builder

Saves its marketer 35 hours a month across six campaigns.

Doctor-network automation

Runs a medical-tourism doctor network, demoed entirely in Spanish.

Agency ops dashboard

Batches a full day of client production for an agency owner.

Event OS

Generates event flyers and Instagram formats in about a minute.

Live audio stem mixer

An interactive mixer, played live in front of the whole room.

The $20,000 tool

A vendor quoted $20,000 to build it. A team member made it in one cohort.

The math on the investment

You learn to build one tool in one month. Then you can build any tool you want, every month after that, for the rest of your career. One good tool often pays for the whole cohort by itself, and everything after that compounds.

Real builders, on the record

Every quote below was said out loud on a cohort call, with permission to share. No polishing, no ghostwriting. Start with 53 seconds of Demo Day.

Four builders, four working tools, 53 seconds.

"As soon as we started the cohort, it was like a new door opened. And I can actually build these things. And it's plain English... it builds the system for you."
Dine-Mari, cohort builder. She'd describe herself as scared of code before session one.
"I came into this with like zero experience... I'm going to be off to the races."
Stu Gildred, Lotus Rooftop, on Demo Day.
"It is going to save me basically six hours per campaign. And right now I am doing six campaigns a month. So that is like 35 hours of work saved, essentially."
Kandice Vincent, marketer, naming her numbers live on Demo Day.
"So David, what you did, someone six months ago quoted me $20,000 to make that."
Ginger Gentile, business owner, watching her team member's demo.

For professionals

Start at the free monthly webinar

You know you need to do AI. You're just not sure where to start. That's who the webinar is for. Every third Wednesday, we run it free and live: how the Build Room method works, real builds on screen from recent cohorts, and how open cohorts run. Whether you're joining on your own or a leader pointed you here, it's the best way to see if this fits before you commit to anything.

The next one is Wednesday, August 19 at 7pm New York time. Drop your email and you'll get the link. That's it.

One email with the date and link. No drip sequence.

It's not only on Zoom

The Build Room also meets in person. Build days and hackathons put a room full of professionals behind laptops for a day, and retreats take a small group away for a few days of deep building. That photo is 25 business owners after one build day.

These formats are great on their own. What the cohort adds is time, because four weeks builds a habit where one day builds a memory.

Upcoming retreats: Playa del Carmen, Mexico in October and Chiang Mai, Thailand in November. Dates get announced at the webinar and on fit calls.

Questions people actually ask

Do I need to be technical?

No. The Build Room is for professionals, not engineers. If you can use Google Sheets, you're past the technical bar. Some of the strongest builds have come from people who'd have called themselves the least technical person in the room.

What if I don't know what to build?

Good, that's normal. Picking the project is the first thing we do together in week one: we help you find a task from your own week that's worth automating. You'll have a real project before you write a single prompt.

How much time does it take?

Four live sessions of two hours each, one per week, plus whatever you put in between. Builders who block two extra hours a week move noticeably faster.

What does it cost?

It depends on whether you're joining an open cohort or bringing a team, and on team size. We cover exact numbers at the webinar or on the fit call, so you get a price for your situation instead of a guess on a web page.

Who owns what we build?

You do, fully. Your company owns everything your team makes. The Build Room takes no IP claim on any of it.

Are sessions recorded?

Yes. Every session is recorded and shared with your cohort, so a missed session doesn't mean a lost week.

A note from the founder

I like to say learn AI, build robots, and stay human. The stay human part is the point. I've watched ambitious friends get so deep into AI that they stopped going to the gym and stopped calling their moms. That's not the trade.

So we build in a room, together, on camera, with coaching. You get the leverage of AI and you keep the parts of work that make it worth doing: people seeing what you made, and you seeing theirs.

Before The Build Room, I spent more than a decade in Silicon Valley and worked with over 100 startups. That experience shaped the method, and a team of facilitators and Silicon Valley founder coaches runs it with me.

Bring one real problem. Leave with one working tool. The rest follows.
